David      Naturalist.  Writer.  Broadcaster.  Photographer.

David is a naturalist, writer, broadcaster, speaker, photographer, wildlife tour leader and educationist.

Some of you may also know David as The Urban Birder. Encouraging people in towns and cities to get connected to nature through his TV appearances, talks and articles.

David had been interested in Natural History and in particular birds before he could walk. In his book ‘The Urban Birder’ his mum recalls him going missing, aged 3, during a family gathering. A search party was dispatched and Mrs Lindo eventually found her son standing outside a churchyard, watching Magpies.

David now travels the world telling people about the amazing urban wildlife that’s on their doorsteps.

Media

TV

David is a regular television presenter and has been featured on the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 in the UK, as well as other TV channels around the world including CBS in the United States.

Radio

David’s radio work is extensive, ranging from regular slots on the prestigious BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio London and many other stations around the globe.

Talks

David has given talks to huge audiences across the globe. From London to New York, Nairobi to Riga and Sao Paulo to Bangkok, to name a few. His talks are always entertaining, thought provoking and inspirational.

Books & Articles

David wrote his first book aged 9. It was called ‘Thrushes and Their Enemies.’ Unfortunately it had a low print run – one to be precise. In 2011 David’s second book ‘The Urban Birder’ was published. Fortunately this one’s been read by a few more people.
David is also the author of countless articles on birds and ornithology for many other books, newspapers, magazines and websites.

Tours & Masterclasses

Over the years David has visited numerous cities and other man-made spots in search of birds and other wildlife. In fact, he is seen as a global authority on urban birding.
He now organises unique and very popular urban birding tours. Look out for details of next year’s tours and masterclasses.

The Urban Birder Club

The world’s only online club for urban birders. Join David as he gives you all the hints you’ll ever need to enjoy watching birds in any city in the world.
Launches May 2015
